The Workforce Innovations Opportunities Act (WIOA) is a federal requirement that improves access to competitive integrated employment for people with disabilities and limits the payment of subminimum wages. • Requires states to align workforce development programs
  • Promotes accountability by requiring employment and training programs to be evidence-based
  • Aligns workforce development programs with regional economic development strategies
  • Increases availability of services for job seekers
  • Provides access to high-quality job training
