E1MN is a partnership of three state agencies focused on making it easier for people with disabilities to engage in meaningful employment.
Employment programs for people with disabilities span across multiple state agencies. Under E1MN, these agencies are working to connect their programs so they work better together for you.
E1MN state partners include:
- The Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED)
- The Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS)
- The Minnesota Department of Education (MDE)
What does E1MN mean for me?
E1MN’s focus right now is to improve the experience for people on disability waivers.
If you are on a waiver, it means the people who support you like - case manager, VR counselor, employment provider, and school staff - will have training, tools, and resources to help coordinate and work together so you get timely support to reach your work goals.
Will E1MN change the services I get?
No, your current waiver services will not change due to E1MN. E1MN helped clarify who funds what services. The waiver funds services to help you explore and plan for a job in the community. Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) funds services to help you find a job. Once you find a job the waiver can provide on-going job supports, if you need them to help you succeed. If you are working with a provider who is enrolled in both VR and waiver programs, you can get all your employment supports through the same provider.
Along the way, you may see new tools and resources to help you reach your goals.
