Survey: Communications review

In July 2026, 76 VIP members completed a survey to help the Minnesota Department of Human Services (DHS) test individual budget terms that may be used for future communications about Waiver Reimagine. The responses helped DHS understand which terms were easier to understand and which terms needed clearer explanations.

The feedback shared:

  • Some terms were easier to understand than others. Terms such as Planning Range and Covered Services were more difficult to understand than other terms. In response, DHS changed the terms to clearer, plain language options.

  • Examples can make complex information easier to understand. In response, DHS will test the updated terms by creating educational materials with more explanation and examples.

  • Visuals can help explain how information fits together. In response, DHS will use images and visual information to explain the terms and how they relate to each other.
