LEARN: Develop your knowledge

Read the following to build your knowledge about organizing and participating in meetings to coordinate services.

When a person is on a waiver, it is important to use meetings to coordinate services and make sure everyone is on the same page.

  • When VRS/SSB services begin, VRS/SSB staff organize and facilitate VRS employment plan meetings, which are used to plan for VRS/SSB service delivery.
  • When the employment plan and goal are completed, the VRS/SSB staff organize and facilitate a job search plan meeting, which is used to start the job search process.
  • When the person accepts the job, VRS/SSB staff will notify the waiver case manager that the person has accepted a position.
  • VRS/SSB staff may also be asked to participate in IEP meetings (used for youth in school) and waiver meetings (annual assessments and six-month reviews).
