Waiver employment services are a critical service for people enrolled in a waiver who want to work.
Case managers identify the person’s needs, help the person understand the services and supports available to find and keep employment, help the person understand their service provider options, authorize services, and connect the person with their chosen provider(s). Case managers may help the person choose a provider using local employment service providers they already know of from their professional experience and using MinnesotaHelp.info. In addition to formal services through the waiver, case managers also need to consider informal supports, like co-workers, family, and other community connections that could help the person reach their employment goal.
