Document the person’s choice to work or not

When providing waiver employment exploration services in the engage phase, employment service providers document the person's activities and experiences and help the person create a My Vault account.

With My Vault, the person can upload important files and information and share with other team members as desired.

Complete the following activities to build your skills documenting the person’s choice to work or not.

Complete the following activities to build your skills using My Vault:

1. If you have not created a My Vault account, go to “Using My Vault to support people” and follow the steps under “How to create a professional My Vault account”. Note you can also find a link to this page in the “Hands-on tools” page of the Work toolkit.

2. Add your supervisor as a contact to your My Vault account. Open “How to add contacts and share files” (PDF) and follow the steps to add your supervisor as a contact.

3. Share documentation of an exploration activity or experience with your supervisor to get comfortable with the steps for sharing files. Open “How to add contacts and share files” (PDF) and follow the steps for storing and sharing files.

4. Ask a co-worker or your supervisor to share a file with you from their My Vault account to your My Vault account.

Practice completing and sharing the “My Profile: Work” activity to build your skills using My Vault.

1. Sign in to your My Vault account.
Or if you haven't created a My Vault account yet, see Activity 1 above.

2. Complete the activity.
On the My Vault dashboard, select Planning Paths. On the Planning Paths page, select the work path called “Plan for work: How can I plan for work?” Within this work path, select "My Profile: Work" and click on the “My Profile: Work” icon to get started. Answer each question about yourself or an example person. When you are done, select the activity home icon.

3. Share the activity results.
Click on the Files tab and locate the “My Profile: Work” activity results you just completed. Click the Share icon (three dots) to the right of the activity results and select the name of the person you want to share the results with. Then select Next, and Send.

Practice uploading and sharing the documentation of an exploration activity or experience to build your skills using My Vault.

1. Sign in to your My Vault account.
Or if you haven't created a My Vault account yet, see Activity 1 above.

2. Upload a file.
On the My Vault dashboard, select Files. Locate the box that says, “Drop files or click here to Upload Files to My Vault and Share with Others”. Click on that box and select a file from your computer to practice uploading, or drag and drop a file into the box to practice uploading.

3. Share the file.
Still in the Files area, locate the file you just uploaded. Click the Share icon (three dots) to the right of the file and select the name of the person you want to share the results with. Then select Next, and Send.
