Medical Assistance (MA) home and community-based waivers provide services needed to support people in their homes, at work and in the community. Everyone on a waiver has a case manager who can act as a key partner in the transition planning process.
Disability waiver programs available in Minnesota include:
- Community Alternative Care (CAC) Waiver
This waiver serves people with disabilities who need the level of care normally provided in a hospital. - Community Access for Disability Inclusion (CADI) Waiver
This waiver serves people with disabilities who need the level of care normally provided in a nursing facility. - Developmental Disabilities (DD) Waiver
This waiver serves people with developmental disabilities or related conditions who need the level of care normally provided in an intermediate care facility for people with developmental disabilities (ICF/DD). - Brain Injury (BI) Waiver
This waiver provides services to people with a documented brain injury who need neurobehavioral hospital or nursing facility level of care.
