The job process

Understand the application process

Does the youth know how to complete job applications? Do they have a resume?

The application process may include writing a resume and cover letter and providing references or other materials that will help hiring managers learn about the youth as a candidate.

  • Awareness: Understand how to complete a job application.
  • Exploration: Identify strengths, preferences, interests and needs for completing job applications.
  • Preparation: Practice completing job applications (being sure to have on hand a state-issued ID or driver's license, birth certificate, and/or Social Security card).
  • Implementation: Complete job applications with appropriate documents.
